When you first got married you would of said these words “until death do we part” and you both should live up to this promise, however many married couples fail to keep this one important value. For a few couples keeping the romance and passion in their marriage is easy. When it comes down to it the only marriages that actually work out well in the long term are the ones who put some effort and work into it. A great marriage doesn’t happen automatically, without any help. If your marriage isn’t as fun and exciting as when you first got married, don’t panic because there are plenty of things you can do to improve the quality of it before seeking the help of a marriage therapist.
The most important two things which a good marriage has are Respect and Consideration for each other. Think back to how you felt about these values when you first got engaged, most likely you will find that you felt much more of these feelings at the start of your relationship. If you wife/husband isn’t showing you the appreciated level of respect or consideration then you will find that you are not showing it either.

Take a second to reflect on the times your husband or wife has displayed these feelings for you. If you are having trouble remembering any times when these feelings have been shown for you, then its time you both had a nice long conversation.
You both need to write down on a piece of paper what number you believe best suits the problem of your marriage, next show each other your score. Lets say for example you write down 2/10 and your spouse puts down a 6/10, for the same issue, now obviously this issue is much worse for you than it is for your partner. By showing each other what you think of the problem, you can both sit down and work out a solution together, more rightly so if you both agree there is a problem.
Never point the finger or blame the your partner, you will both have different ideas about the issue at hand and it’s much better to find a middle ground rather than being biased.

If the two of you both have a different problem which is worse than all the others then, the first thing to do is find out if the problems are related.
For instance, he thinks that the worst issue is “you are never home” and you believe the worst issue is that “you are always making a mess in the house”. It may just be that because you are never at home, he feels that there isn’t no point keeping the cleaning up as he is the only one who is ever at home. This means that you both need to urgently fix this problems first. Make a time to get together and work out when you both have separate activities so that after you have gone out you can mutually finish up at home at the same time. You may have to cut back on particular activities or maybe join a few groups of friends together so you can spend more time together with your husband/wife.
If you aren’t home because of work you could try to negate some terms with your boss, say come in early on Mondays & Tuesday’s and leave early Thursday. If you are both are committed to your marriage you will have no problems finding a solution which suites you both.
Which ever problems you need to work out, with some consideration and respect, and a genuine effort from each spouse, you will have much less problems within your marriage and will find that its much easier to come talk about your problems.
